grønland was recorded in february and march 2006 while rehearsing the ['ramp] concert that was about to take place at münster's club cuba in april 2006.

essentially, all tracks were recorded live and directly to dat, using a prophet vs as the album's mainstay, plus the (at that time) ubiquitous technics wsa-1, electrix repeater, stereo echoplex and jamman loopers, and prophet 2000. while playing, the telly was on, showing (how aptly) a documentary on... grønland.

i just edited the music very slightly afterwards in order to make it fit onto one of the 25 all-blue cdrs that were presented at the geräuschwelten gig, alongside its sibling album "tektonik -- music for earthquakes".

of course, those cdrs are long gone and out of print.

enjoy another journey to the cozy places on this planet.
