"steel and steam" took quite some time to be finished and released. in fact, the earliest recordings date back to august 2002 when i paid a visit to mark shreeve in london for some highly inspired and creative sessions. this is where one half of the album was recorded.

the other half of the album was recorded on my own at zwischenraum werther and cold furnace bielefeld. due to the reformation of ['ramp] and the turmoil that followed in its trail, it took from 2005 to 2010 to finish off the remaining tracks.

"steel and steam" was released in the summer of 2011 in an edition of 300 numbered copies (some of them even signed). the batch sold out in 2015, with copies occasionally fetching fairly steep prices on the internet.
